Owner ran this boat all through the winter of 2021-2022 in the Bay in all types of conditions. Last February during an inspection, the CG identified two cracked welds in the framing. Instead of welding them up and/or installing an extra bracing, this led to a can of worms – they wanted a complete Marine Survey and all kinds of reinforcements installed in the boat which would require removing the interior cabin etc.
It has been sitting for a year and the owner recently made the decision to sell instead of using funds to complete the required “repairs”.
They have tried to secure work as a 6 pack boat – but their business just requires inspected vessels. It is their opinion that there is nothing wrong with the seaworthiness of this vessel – they just drew an over the top inspector plus they didn’t have their Port Captain at the inspection to make intelligent arguments – they had a guy on it that had never been in charge of an inspection before.
